Programmable payoffs are ideal for controlling the feed of very delicate wires, filaments, or tubing as they are pulled by an extruder, annealing furnace, cleaning operation, or other process. They usually include closed-loop tension control and quickly respond to synchronize with the pull rate while providing precise tension control down to 5 grams. Programmability through an on-board PC and touchscreen interface allows them to store recipes for quick setup and changeover compared to other systems. Programmable payoffs are often paired with programmable take-ups as a complete respooling system with the required process inserted between the two programmable sections.
